Seven
minutes changed a Mumbai boy’s life. He received the heart from a brain-dead
Punjabi woman from Pune. The entire process was nothing less than VVIP
Movement. The authorities took charge and made a Green corridor which lead to
smooth functioning of the entire procedure.
A stunning coordinated effort
between medical professionals, the city and the traffic police and the zonal
transplant coordination committee, which gave the nod for organ retrieval,
ensured Pune's first heart retrieval procedure reached its logical conclusion.
Also it’s incredible how Mumbai
recorded its first heart transplant after 47 years.
